On June 20th, the German Division Final of the 13th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign High School Students concluded, in which Sonya, a contestant from Stralsund Confucius Institute, wins the third place.
The Competition, undertaken by the Confucius Institute at the University of Trier, is held online due to the COVID-19. Thirteen middle school students from different cities in Germany take part in it, showing their love for Chinese culture through Chinese speeches and talent shows on the theme of “My stories with Chinese language”.
Stralsund Confucius Institute attaches great importance to this competition, taking various online ways instead of the traditional offline teaching mode, to promote the teaching of Chinese language and spreading of Chinese culture. HFU Chinese teachers working at the Institute have provided the contestants with careful tutoring on Chinese cultural knowledge for more than 2 months. Sonya’s achievement suggests another breakthrough for Stralsund Confucius Institute after its winning the Excellence Award in the same competition of 2019, which also indicates the improvement of HFU’s Chinese teachers’ teaching proficiency.
