August 17 to 19 witnessed the finals of the 18th National College Student Smart Car Race at Tiangong University. Students from HFU stood out from dozens of universities and won 2 first prizes and 3 second prizes.
Starting from December 2022, HFU has been actively organizing 17 teams of more than 200 undergraduate and graduate students of different specialties, 5 of them advanced to the national finals, who then won the prizes.
HFU’s Smart Car Team was established in October, 2007 and made their debut in the Race in 2008. Since then, the Team has won 7 national first prizes, 20 second prizes, and 3 third prizes. Participating in this Race has significantly enhanced HFU students’ practical and innovation capabilities. It also exemplifies the University’s application-oriented philosophy in fostering students’ engineering abilities, innovation mindset, comprehensive qualities, and the like.
The Race serves as an exploratory competition for college and university students of Engineering in China. So far, the total number of students participating in it has exceeded 400,000.
